ABOUT LAUREN

I pursued my passion for helping others by earning a Master’s in Social Work, building on a foundation of dedication and education. After graduating, my experience focused on intensive crisis intervention, community services, developmental disabilities, out-patient and in-patient psychiatric needs, substance use, trauma/complex-trauma, attachment, family systems, relationships, foster care, and adoption, including the unique dynamics of the adoption triad. During my clinical internship, I further specialized in domestic abuse, adversity, attachment, family conflict and working with adult adoptees. My experience has shaped my therapeutic approach, allowing me to support clients in creating meaningful and lasting change.

Throughout my journey as a therapist, I have worked with diverse populations—from teenagers to individuals over 100 years old—in settings such as hospitals, psychiatric care, hospice, and community agencies. My experience includes legislative advocacy, supervising child and family visits, working with advocacy centers, and supporting individuals and families through crises and stressful situations. My training and direct in-depth work with clients in the community and private practice provides additional insight and allows me to approach therapy with empathy, practicality, and a commitment to finding solutions that truly work for each client.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a highly effective approach for healing trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, and emotional dysregulation. My work is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, with a strong focus on helping individuals address childhood ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences), trauma, and attachment to find their path to healing and resilience. My advanced clinical work and training offer a macro-system perspective and fuel my dedication and passion for providing effective care for those I am privileged to work with.

As a parent navigating the complexities of raising a child with special needs, I bring a unique perspective to my work. This experience has deepened my empathy and understanding of the challenges individuals and families face, especially in the areas of parenting, co-parenting, and overcoming adversity. In my free time, I love exploring the great outdoors, off-roading trails in my Jeep Wrangler, and immersing myself in new cultures and experiences through travel.

I offer online/teletherapy to clients located in Texas, Virginia & Florida, as well as in-person sessions at my office in Greenville, Texas.

IMPORTANT FACTORS FOR CHOOSING A THERAPIST

A good therapist should offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help you decide if she is the right counselor for you. After speaking with them, you should feel that you will be able to talk to them about your issues and that the therapist has the knowledge to help you with your situation. The relationship between the client and the therapist is the key to making therapy for work for you.

I answer my phone personally because I recognize that you want to talk to me, not a receptionist, about your concerns. I realize that new clients need to be seen quickly so I save openings to schedule you; I can usually see you within the same week. Traditional appointments, extended sessions, one-time consultations, and phone/online sessions are available.

Call or Text (214) 233-4434 for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
